Vintage Works 1

Recently I have started to work in film again.

I always liked film better than digital from the beginning, when I took classes in high school.
The problem is. Now that I'm out of school I don't have access to a darkroom. So film began to become a hassle. But. Not any more. In my local area I found a lab that specializes in the black and white process .

I can get a member ship there. So thats what Im planning on doing. I can work in a darkroom, develop negatives of all kinds (35mm, 120, 4x5s ect.). They even have a matting and framing area. Also they have a yearly gallery for members to showcase work. That would be great for some exposure.

This image was shot with a Soligor 45. A camera from 1945. I love the vintage look it gives to the images. I have acquired many vintage cameras ranging from the 40s 50s and even from the 1800s. I plan on shooting with all of them.

So this was taken at a local dam/lake. More to come!

Update.

A update on my themed 2012 Portfolio.

At the beginning of the year I started a NEW Portfolio for my Spring semester for college. You can see some posts on it if you scroll down a bit. But for some reason it didn't work out this time. I only completed two images out of the twelve total.

Im taking a break from this series for now. Someday I will come back to it. You can count on that.

But these photographs below are working edits/unfinished images that I'm working towards making it into the final set.

Creepy 1

This is a candid photograph of my friends by a fire. I shot it with a long shutter speed to get that ghostly look to the person and fire. I liked how it came out. Later I turned it black and white to get an even creepier look.

NEW 2012 Portfolio.

These are working edits/images for my NEW 2012 Portfolio. "Fabric being frozen in motion with different backgrounds". So its a start. I recently just bought a flash to experiment with. Im going to try to brighten up the shadows in the fabric. And also with the flash it will be easier to freeze the fabrics motion. Thus the fabric would also be more in focus.

NEW Landscapes for 2012

Recently I have been slacking on producing work. But 2012 is here. So. To a new stage in my photography endeavor. Yah!

I did a shoot this week and shot around 50 pics of some woods and such around my area. This is what I came up with.  These are Working edits right now and there's a Black/White and Color version. Not sure on the one I like the most.

Also. When driving home from school I saw this great moonlight reflection on my local reservoir. So I sped home and grabbed my camera to take the last picture.
