Self Portrait 2009

This is a oldie. Its the only self portrait I have taken. The assignment was to tell a story through a self portrait.
For some odd reason I have a really big fear about having short nails. I always have to have white showing. Even seeing other people bite there finger tips to a stump freaks me out. Its gotten so bad, that sometimes when even thinking about nails cut to short I've felt like passing out. It just freaks me out. Thats the story Im trying to tell in this photograph.

This was shot with 35mm film and self processed in a darkroom.

Inspiration

I really love this photograph. But I don't know who the photographer is. The model is Jana Defi. Shes an adult/glamour model. I had a goal once in life to do a photo-shoot with her when I finished school and maybe opened up my own studio. But that was before she retired from modeling. Oh well, right?
I would like to know who took this photo. To see his/her work would be cool. If he/she had the same similar style I would like to see different models portrayed this way. Its just a simple portrait that shows women can still be beautiful with out being "slutty" or nude. This artist shows that perfectly.

"Mailboxes" and working.

NEW Images for my 2011 Mini Portfolio. I like the way the top one came out. The middle one is still a working edit. And below that is the color version of the image.

Shot about 100 images for this batch. So more to come.

Mailbox 1

Im trying to do a Mini Portfolio this Summer to keep me motivated/productive. Its a lot easier said than done. But after thinking some and just walking around I thought of an idea for a theme.
"Mailboxes". Just a simple idea. With the abundance of mailboxes about I thought it would be cool to see different kinds, all framed and scaled the same and edited in black and white. It could turn out to be a cool little series. So this is the starting point. The first image. Now to start shooting some more.
